Project Management

To undertake projects of a varied nature and scope, BR Labs maintains a flexible approach to project management which implements project specific strategies developed to meet the objectives, constraints, technical requirements and managerial issues set out by a particular project.

Site Laboratories

For larger, or longer-term, contracts we can establish site-based operations to provide an immediate response to all onsite concrete sampling and testing requirements. Facilities, equipment and staffing levels are determined according to our clients’ needs, from a simple “as-and-when-needed” sampling plan to a fully resourced concrete, soil and aggregate laboratory in operation at your site.

The size of any operation is fully flexible to cope with fluctuating site demands. Meaning as your site dynamics change our resources present changes along with the price point.

Our aim is to provide a service and a result that your are comfortable with. Some prefer to have a flexible resource that they can adjust to suit their changing needs and would rather pay for these on an as-used basis.

Other clients prefer a lump sum approach to service their operations, with the benefit of a fixed monthly charge based on a pre-agreed scope of work. Whatever the clients requirements, BR Labs strives to provide the appropriate solution.

Our quality technicians carry out regular QA audits and our Laboratory Quality Manager, who oversees the running of all site laboratories, regularly undertakes visits.

Concrete and Masonry Testing & Inspection including compressive Strength of Concrete, In-Place Strength Testing (Schmidt Hammer & Coring), Concrete Placement Field Inspection, Re-bar location in existing structures (i.e. non- destructive testing)

At BR Labs we understand the importance of quality control testing for the planning phase and throughout the construction process. Through our cross-trained personnel and fully equipped mobile laboratories we have completed more than 70% of the large tourism construction projects in Jamaica over the past 7 years.

Construction Materials Testing: Using the latest testing technology we provide off-site materials testing facilities for our clients across Jamaica.
Onsite Laboratories: We provide our larger clients with the convenience of real time reporting facilities by providing fully equipped on-site construction materials testing laboratories. Each site laboratory is separately staffed and financed so that no project is left waiting for resources, or more importantly results. Additionally, our staff comprise trained, multi-lingual persons up to the supervisory level.

Service Quality Assurance: For BR Labs accreditation is benchmark for any materials testing laboratory and BR Labs is no exception. The Company has consulted with the Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) from the outset and is in the process of concretizing our accreditation with JANAAC. As part of that process BR Labs has one of the few JANAAC certified assessors for accreditation under ISO 17025. Additionally, all of testing equipment is calibrated by overseas NIST certified laboratories.
